Peter and Carolyn Christ of Battle Creek, co-chairs of the 2001 Community Prayer Breakfast welcome the 1,050 in attendance. The Christs have been close friends of this year's speakers, Cedric and June Dempsey, since the four were students at Albion College.

 Members of the LaMora Park Adult Choir let their praises ring with the singing of "In the Sanctuary."

 The group has performed under the direction of Pauline Norris for 25 years and has produced a CD, titled "Wait on the Lord." (Also performing, but not pictured here is the group's men's section.)
 The Community Brass Ensemble, led by Jerry Rose, director of bands in the Pennfield School District, added richness to the Prayer Breakfast setting. The Ensemble is comprised of musicians from throughout the Battle Creek area.

 Count Laws, visiting with well-wishers after the Breakfast, wowed the audience with the power of his extraordinary God-given voice as he led the singing of "Amazing Grace."
 Cedric Dempsey fields questions on college athletics with sports reporter, Mike Bridges from WWMT Channel 3.
