Our service area includes Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties.
We are part of the Second Harvest national network of foodbanking and the Food Bank Council of Michigan.
What is a Food Bank?
We solicit, store and distribute food on behalf of our 226 member agency charity groups in southcentral Michigan.
Who is eligible to become a member agency of the Food Bank?
Any charity group that has 501(c)(3) tax exempt, non-profit status and operates a feeding program
is usually eligible to become a member agency.
What sorts of food does the Food Bank need?
Canned fruits and vegetables, soups, tuna fish, canned beef stew, and peanut butter are items that are frequently needed. Any food company that has access to protein products (meats, cheeses, etc.) is also welcome to contact us.
Can the Food Bank use volunteers?
Yes! We can use volunteer help in the warehouse pulling and loading food orders,
cleaning the warehouse; also in our office area with mailings, filing, entering
data, etc.
